Don’t know how umpteen things turn to ashes
Flickering images of yore, ruthlessly flashes
Embers lighting up your night sky goes wrong
Losing my way in the storm, I still look for you in songs
Today the sparrows of your unfulfilled promises, nibbled my core
I asked ‘em to be quiet today, as their chirpiness I no longer adore
Unfurling desiccated emotions, I hollered “respect the dead” and “fidget less”
Buried ‘neath the edifice of unspoken vows, they rest in peace at someplace.
